
Phuket, Thailand
Phuket is the largest island in Thailand. It is located in the Andaman Sea on the southern part of Thailand, the Neighbouring provinces are Phang Nga and Krabi, but as Phuket is an island there are no land boundaries.
60% of the island is the forest, rubber and palm oil plantations. The western coast has a long sandy beach, the eastern coast are muddy. The southern of the island is Laem Promthep, it is the good viewing to see the sunset on Phuket.
The most popular beach for tourist on Phuket is Patong Beach, it is located on the central western coast. The other popular beaches are Karon Beach, Kata Beach, Kata Noi Beach, Nai Harn Beach and Rawai. To the north of Patong are Kamala Beach, Surin Beach and Bang Tao Beach. Similan islands and Phi Phi islands is the most favorite for snorkellers and scubar divers.

There are 4 ways to go to Phuket following :
By air
There are the direct flight from Bangkok to Phuket daily, some flight via at Samui island. The total from Bangkok to Phuket about 1.20 hours.
By bus
Air-conditioned and non air-con buses from Bangkok's Southern Bus Terminal for Phuket several times daily. The trip by air-con bus, normally leaving in the evening, takes about 12 hours.
By car
From Bangkok, take Highway No.4 (Phetchakasem Road) through Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Surat Thani and Phang-nga, then cross the Thep Krasattri Bridge or Sarasin Bridge to Phuket Island. The total distance is 862 kilometres. The total time is taking about 12 hours.
By rial
There is no direct train to Phuket, the tourist have to get off at Phun Phin railway station at Surat Thani and catch the bus to Phuket.
Beach

Hat Patong (Patong Beach) this beach is favorite for tourist, there everything offer the tourist such as sporting, shopping, windsurfing, snorkelling, sailing, swimming, and sunbathing and there are many good restaurants on the beach.
Laem Promthep (Promthep Cape) it is the best place to see the sunset on Phuket, there are many restaurants for the tourist to dinner and see the sunset.
Hat Karon (Karon Beach) it is far from the town about 20 kilometers, this beach is the second largest of Phuket. There are many last resort along the shore, the sand is very white and there are many good restaurants in this beach. The southern point has a fine coral reef stretching toward Kata and Bu island.
Kamala Beach Kamala is located of the north of Patong. Tourist development on the beach much of which is covered by a Muslim graveyard and a police outpost has been slow in coming. The length of this beach is about 2 kilometers. There are many accommodations and restaurants , the most of popular dinner is seafood. Kamala is the perfect place to get away from it all and has little to offer in the way of entertainment for that go across the mountains to Patong. Regular bus service to and from Phuket Town during daytime; tuk-tuk service available to Patong, 5 kms. away on the new road.
